2015 Boys Regional Finals Matchups

2015 Boys Regional Finalists

AAA Boys

Region I
(5:00 Game to be played Tuesday, October 27th at Brooke High School)

PARKERSBURG vs MORGANTOWN
Records to date (per wvsoccer.net): Parkersburg (16-1-2) ; Morgantown (13-4-2)
Notes: Parkersburg knocked off the defending state champ Mohigans 5-3 back on October 13th and haven't lost since August. Outside of that game, however, Morgantown hasn't allowed more than 1 goal in a game in over a month, and has a goals-against average of 1.05 (1.25 including that game)

Region II
(5:00 Game to be played Tuesday, October 27th at Musselman High School)

WASHINGTON vs BUCKHANNON-UPSHUR
Records to date: Washington (15-4-0) ; Buckhannon-Upshur (16-3-2)
Notes: The two teams haven't met this season, though Washington has the slightly better record against their shared opponents. This looks to be an incredibly tight matchup that is really anybody's game to win

Region III
(5:00 Game to be played Tuesday, October 27th at Greenbrier East High School)

GEORGE WASHINGTON vs WOODROW WILSON
Records to date:  George Washington (15-2-4) ; Woodrow Wilson (16-4-0)
Notes: GW beat the Flying Eagles 5-0 a month ago, but Woodrow hasn't lost or tied a game since

Region IV
(5:00 Game to be played Tuesday, October 27th at Point Pleasant High School)

WINFIELD vs HUNTINGTON
Records to date: Winfield (14-6-1) ; Huntington (11-7-1)
Notes: The Highlanders won the regular season matchup 5-0, but the Generals have only lost 1 game since then, and they avenged that one in the Sectional championship to reach this point

AA/A Boys

Region I
(~7:30 Game to be played Thursday, October 29th at Weir High School)

WEIR vs FAIRMONT SENIOR
Records to date: (16-2-0) ; Fairmont Senior (17-3-1)
Notes: Weir won the regular season game 3-2 in the season opener for both teams and haven't lost to a A/AA team all season. Meanwhile, Fairmont has an incredible goal differential of +123 on an equally incredible 142 goals scored

Region II
(~7:30 Game to be played Thursday, October 29th at Grafton High School)

GRAFTON vs BRIDGEPORT
Records to date: Grafton (18-1-1) ; Bridgeport (17-3-0)
Notes: Grafton only lost a single game all season...but it just happened to be to Bridgeport in one of only two games all season where Grafton allowed more than 1 goal (they won the other one 8-2).

Region III
(~7:30 Game to be played Thursday, October 29th at Nicholas County High School)

NICHOLAS COUNTY vs BLUEFIELD
Records to date: Nicholas County (9-10-1) ; Bluefield (14-2-2)
Notes: Bluefield won 7-1 in their matchup in the regular season, but Nicholas is riding high after their Sectional Championship

Region IV
(~7:30 Game to be played Thursday, October 29th at Ripley High School)

WILLIAMSTOWN vs CHARLESTON CATHOLIC
Records to date: Williamstown (15-2-1) ; Charleston Catholic (17-0-1)
Notes: The top ranked defending champs from Catholic haven't lost since playing AAA Runners-up GW October 16th...of 2014. Meanwhile, Williamstown has outscored their competition 119 - 14 this season.
